Maria Kabbaj is a multidisciplinary and “radicante” Moroccan-Lebanese artist. This term is borrowed from Nicolas Bourriaud (curator and art historian specializing in contemporary art) who uses it to describe a generation of artists who grow their roots as they advance . A generation that Maria Kabbaj identifies with. She feeds her work, mostly autobiographical, with Maghreb, African, Near-Eastern and European references, giving her career a unique character. Most of her art is inspired by human relationships.
